Our Automated Payment Process
Create and submit a Work Order via your Swift Legal account, which may include any fee advances required.
Upon submission, a pre-authorization hold (pre-auth) will be placed temporarily on the nominated credit or debit card for the estimated cost of the work order.
Once completed, your Proof of Service, Conformed copies etc will be returned digitally to the person that created the request (and anyone else nominated to receive updates), and request will be closed.
The following business day, the payment for the invoice will be automatically processed:
-
If the total of the invoice is less than the pre-auth amount, the system will process the payment & release the hold on the remaining pre-auth balance.
-
If the invoice is more than the pre-auth, the system will capture the pre-auth and debit the remaining balance.
This may result in 2 separate debits for lesser amounts being processed on different days that will total the invoice amount.
Finally, once the payment is successfully applied, a $0.00 balance invoice will be emailed which also acts as your receipt.
You won't receive your invoice or have funds debited until AFTER we have completed our part of your Work Order.
All Requests, No Matter The Task, Start With Creating A Work Order.

A Work Order helps Swift Legal clearly define the who, what, when, and where of each assignment, while enabling accurate tracking and timely updates throughout the process.

Many clients submit their own work orders through the Swift Legal portal, while others have relied on our team to create them as a courtesy. As service volumes increase, preparing work orders for customers—especially when additional information is required—can impact our ability to efficiently process active requests.

To support timely service delivery, a Concierge Fee may apply when Swift Legal creates a work order on your behalf.

The good news is, this fee can be avoided by creating your own Work Orders via the Swift portal. The wizard takes about the same time as drafting & sending your request via email, and allows you to submit orders on your own schedule 24/7.

Designed to be intuitive, the wizard uses information readily available on your documents, with consistent sections such as Case Info, Documents, and Order Details, being used across multiple work order service types.

Swift Legal also provides a growing library of How-To Guides, including step-by-step walkthroughs and downloadable PDFs, to help you master the wizard. To review the How To guides, click here.

We’re confident that once you’ve used the wizard a few times, it will quickly become your preferred—and most efficient—way to place orders
Creating your own work orders will always be free to do.
However, if you want us to create it for you, a $25 concierge fee will be added to your invoice.
